Refined Oils
Refined safflower oil: This oil has a mild flavor and odor, and is pale yellow in color. Safflower oil is used in a wide range of food related applications including as a spray to coat food, and for frying potato and tortilla chips. It is a healthy alternative in deep frying. At times, safflower oil is also used in cosmetics, for dermatological purposes and in medicines.
Refined rice bran oil: Clear yellow-brown oil, with its own characteristic smell and a neutral taste. It is rich in tocopherol (Vitamin E). Refined rice bran oil is mainly used in the pharmaceuticals industry for dermatological preparations. It is also used as raw material for soap and candle production.
Refined avocado oil: Clear, pale yellow to yellow-green in color with a mild taste. Its main use is in cosmetics as a skin care product (creams, shower gels, body lotions, etc).
Refined sunflower oil: Light in taste and appearance—a great source of vitamin E. Sunflower oil is valued for its light taste, frying performance and health benefits.
Refined peanut oil: Refined peanut oil is highly stable and allergen free, a trans fat-free cooking oil with no flavor or aroma. Refined peanut oil is very low in saturated fat and is a popular oil for frying applications due to its high smoke point.
Refined grape seed oil: Suitable for all culinary purposes. Refined grape seed oil is particular good to blend with unrefined nut oils in salad dressings, is great for marinades and can be used for deep frying. Its smooth texture makes it an excellent massage oil, and it is readily absorbed by the skin. Refined grape seed oil may also be used as a moisturizer on the hair and lips. It is a great carrier oil for aromatherapy massage as it contains more linoleic acid than many other carrier oils. It works as a base in many cosmetics as it can be used as a complete body moisturizer, including on stretch marks.
Refined chia seed oil: Compared to other plant-based sources of omega-3 fatty acids such as flax seed, chia seed oil is particularly rich. Chia seed oil is two-thirds omega-3 fatty acid, and may reduce inflammation and heart disease. Chia seed oil contains mostly polyunsaturated fats, with a small measure of monosaturated fats, considered the best type of fat to boost overall health, especially cardiovascular health.
